Urdok  Glacier of Mt. K2 Range

On the 10 km long section from the terminus up to 4,600 m elevation, there are ice hummocks covered by superglacial moraine. Among these ive hummocks are many ice lakes.

An interesting phenomena is that when the ice-flows from the west joined the main ice-flow of Urdok Glacier, nearly all of them made a 180o turn (from SSE turned suddenly to NE).

A distance view of huge lateral moraine on the
left side of Urdok Glacier.
