How to get
the permit for
you to enter Tibet
to do Scientific Expedition

Travel to
Tibet needs special permission. Most regions of Tibet are not open to foreign
travelers . Only with
the support of our Expedition Host Institutions, we be able to arrange these
Tibet Expeditions for west Scientists & University students.
The Procedure :
(A) Please contact 100GoGo first (at least 3 months before). Through discussion to arrange the expedition schedule, team members and date.
(B) You fill the Expedition application form (Provided by 100GoGo) and send to 100GoGo by E mail or fax.
Then our Chinese Host Institution - Chinese Academy of Science - will send you an original "INVITATION LETTER FOR VISA" by post.
(C) You use this "INVITATION LETTER FOR VISA" to get visa for China from Chinese Embassy in your country.
Once you got the visa for China, please send the visa number, visa issued date and visa valid period to 100GoGo by E mail or fax instantly.
(D) Our Chinese Host Institution has to make official application for foreigner enter Tibet to the following Government Departments:
Tibet Department of Science Technology.
Tibet Foreign Affairs Office.
Tibet Military Headquarter.
Tibet Home Office.
This procedure alone will take at least one month.
(E) Once our Chinese Host Institution obtained the permission from these government offices, we will inform you immediately. You can start your Tibet journey.
Once you arrived Tibet, a special "PASS" will be issued to you.
Be careful, the team members number must be the same as the permission document. If any difference, the application procedure will has to re-start again.
(E) You can book your international flight via Nepal (Katmandu) to Lhasa, or via Chengdu (China) to Lhasa.
Our expedition guide will meet you at Lhasa Airport or Chengdu Airport. Then they will arrange everything for you. You can relax and concentrate on your expedition.
(G) The reservation procedure and consulting are free services of 100gogo. We don't require any pre-payment of your expedition package fee.
You pay the expedition package fee to SSEA (your host organization) directly when you arrived China.
(H) Be nice to your host
As you can see, without the Chinese Host Institutions, it will be impossible to do scientific expeditions in Tibet. However they will have to take responsibility for you during your visit. So be nice to your hosts.
