Pashupati
temple: The temple has two-tiered golden roof & silver doors anexuisite
architecture. It is the historic seat of royalty. The Durbar with its old temples and places epitomizes the religious and cultural life of people. Swoyambhunath/ Boudhanath (Buddhist temple): It is said to be 2000 years old and tourist often call it the "Monkey temple". The main structure of made of a solid hemisphere of brick and clay supporting aloft conical spire can capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Boudhanath is also likely the same, colossal and ancient Stupa is one of the biggest in the world. It is believed that has been built by Lichchhavi King Mana Dev in the fifth century A.D. |

stunning Tibet-like landscape. Sharp rock pinnacle pierce the clear sky,
and a short hike to al lofty lookout reveals the surrounding Himalayas,
Kanjiroba (6,883m.). Shey Phoksundo National Park protects this habitat of
the snow leopard and other rare Himalayan fauna.
At 3,600 m. hardy mountain people survive on barley, wheat and yak by-products, still practicing the ancient Bo religion of Tibet. |
