Perennial, 1m high. Arachnoid erioned. Terminal capitulum, 3 - 7cm. violet red flowers

Flowering: August to September.

Heliophylous, tolerant to cool and poor soil.
Growing on grassy slope and valley stony floodplain.
Endemic to the Himalayas. Distributed in west, south Tibet and west Himalayas.
