Expedition of
"Plants Kingdom" - Yunnan:
This
expedition line is suitable for botanist & plant-related scientists or
amateurs. It
also can be organized as an educational expedition for students.
Yunnan Province of China is the richest "Plants Kingdom" on the earth. There are >15,000 plants (covers all 3 zones) growing in Yunnan. This territory was uplifted from the ancient ocean about 180 million years ago, since then large number of ancient plants have been growing there. i.e. the 2,000 years old tree Taiwania flousiana; the original Angiosperm (2/3 species in the world) and many Yunnan endemic plants like Davidia involucrata. The famous Sishuanbanna rainforest is a treasure region of tropic plants, insects and rare animals.
With its complex geography and climate, there are hundreds sightseeing hot spots and minorities people in Yunnan, which attract millions foreign visitors every year.

The expedition members will be treated as the honored guests, they will be accompanied by
Chinese top scientist and allowed to visit any areas in China.
If the members want to collect certain
specimen from this expedition , the host institutions can obtain the permission for you.

| Visit Runan Stone Forest, White Dragon Cave and Yi minority village. | The world famous Runan Stone Forest occupies an area of 30,000 hectares. It was formed 2 million years ago from the uplifted bottom of the sea. Its magnificent scenes is very attractive. | |

| Botanical & Ecosystem Expedition in yuanyan region. | ||
| Visit Swallow Cave and Special Climbing Skill Show - one of the largest cave in .the world. It was opened to religion and tourism since Ming Dynasty. | From Feb. - Aug. hundred
thousands swallows arrived here from South Asia and built their homes in
the Cave. When the swallows singing and flying out of the cave in the
morning and return in the evening, it was a wonderful view.
The Swallow Cave has land cave and water cave. Its water cave length 5 km, with an sightseeing area of >50,000 m2. Its largest hall of the land cave height 50 m, width 30 - 50 m with an area of >20,000 m2. |
